what we do
apparel screen printing
we are screenprinters. stephanie trained in screen printing in art school and has been working as a printing gun-for-hire since, both before and after she began ladykiller in 2022. our team cumulatively has four decades of experience in screen printing.
screen printing is the most durable and long-lasting method of apparel decoration when done correctly. it’s a great choice for band t-shirts that you want people to wear over and over! comparable methods like vinyl heat press tend to last only a handful of washes; conversely, screen printed band t-shirts from the 70s or earlier are being worn and re-sold to this day.
we specifically specialize in eco-friendly screen printing. we exclusively use water-based inks, which have a softer hand feel than the industry-standard plastisol ink. plastisol also tends to crack as it ages (you can likely observe this in your own closet), and water-based ink does not, which is another huge advantage. from a printer’s perspective, water-based ink is trickier and more technical to work with, as it begins to dry immediately when exposed to air. you might not find other print shops promoting water-based as an option for this reason - but we think that from the client’s perspective, it’s clearly the superior choice.
if you don’t know, here’s the really basic stuff: screen printing is a method of apparel decoration where ink is pushed through a stencil using a rubber blade called a squeegee. the stencil is created on a screen with a wooden frame and very fine mesh (in the old days the mesh was made of silk, hence the term “silkscreen" - it’s polyester now).
we specialize in t-shirts! but we can screen print on essentially anything that can be made flat. that includes sweatshirts, sweatpants, dress shirts, leather jackets, and paper/posters (more on that later).
in the interest of being as eco-friendly as possible, we’ve also pioneered a technique that we can use to print with water-based ink over the graphics of secondhand t-shirts that may have been printed with plastisol. before, this wasn’t possible due to the differing chemical makeup between the two inks, and to the best of our knowledge we’re the only shop in the world doing this. we love doing secondhand runs - reach out if you have an idea!

2. graphic design referrals
we have so many cool friends that it’s honestly difficult to comprehend at times. if you don’t have your design yet, let us know and we can refer you to somebody who can take your idea the final mile. we personally vouch for everybody on our list and keep examples of their work on hand to show you their style.
other services
embroidery
embroidery is the standard choice for baseball hats, which are increasing in popularity as merch, but it’s also a great option for fancy-looking apparel.
posters
screen printed gig posters are a classic keepsake that evoke the 80s and 90s. our materials are archival and colorfast and provide bold color and opacity. we recently embarked on a large run of 6-color 18x24” posters for the drop nineteens’ 2024 tour.
special projects
we love apparel and merch of all kinds - if you have any other ideas or experimental techniques you’d like to try let us know!
